In most cases, the greatest stress on outdoor solar parks comes from the wind. In the Allgäu region, near the mountain chain of the Alps, we faced a particular challenge: Oy-Mittelberg has the highest local snow loads we have ever had to consider in a project, at almost 4.00 kN. Special fasteners and screws were used to reliably secure the system against these forces.
Also the terrain was exceptionally challenging: not just a north-facing slope, but uneven and complex in all directions. On top of that, the ground was hard and difficult. Thanks to project-specific engineering with the utmost precision and a super-flexible substructure, we succeeded in integrating the system harmoniously into the terrain.
This project demonstrates what technology, creativity and teamwork together can achieve.
