For the MKG GÖBEL sales team, summer season started as early as the beginning of March this year on the Adriatic coast. Not for a vacation, but for three intensive trade fair days: our first participation in KEY – The Energy Transition Expo at the Expo Centre Rimini.
KEY is one of the most important European trade fairs for the energy transition and renewable energy. With more than 1,000 exhibitors and around 67,000 visitors, the event has become increasingly international in recent years and has developed into a key platform for the energy sector across the entire Mediterranean region, well beyond the Italian market.
Until now, KEY had not been part of MKG GÖBEL’s trade fair calendar. After learning about the event through an online contact, we decided at short notice to participate – and were fortunate enough to secure the very last available exhibition stand. Preparations therefore took place at full speed: the four-person trade fair team quickly got ready, while two colleagues transported the exhibits to Italy and handled the stand setup on site.
Due to the limited stand space, our presentation focused on two solutions from the GMS® system portfolio. One was GMS® DOUBLE, specifically designed for Agri-PV installations – a segment currently experiencing strong growth in Italy. The second was GMS® SCALE with the MONTAGE 2.0 method, presented through moving models that clearly demonstrated the installation process. Our stand attracted considerable interest, and the team was able to hold many productive discussions with potential partners and customers.
The three days proved to be very worthwhile: our sales team established valuable new contacts and took important first steps toward entering the Italian market. Not exactly a holiday in bella Italia, and the weather was not quite summery either – but it was still an enjoyable and successful experience. And the food? Mamma mia…
