Photovoltaics is one of the key technologies in the field of renewable energies. In a recent report, WDR portrays – as a representative of the entire PV sector – an innovative Agri-PV system from MKG Göbel.

Under the title “Yes to climate protection?”, german TV magazine “WDR Markt” deals with the problems of implementing the energy turnaround in Germany. At first, the focus is on the lack of acceptance towards new wind power installations; in the second half, the report turns to solar energy. As an example, the filmmakers have chosen a very special project: MKG Göbel has built a dual-use PV system on a berry farm in Büren (Westphalia). Underneath the elevated solar modules (sub construction: GMS® DOUBLE), the ground is used for agriculture. The owner is very satisfied with his innovative plant and expects a return on investment of 13 to 14 years.

In the light of such innovative solutions, the film concludes: When it comes to implementing the energy transition, technology is not the problem. MKG Göbel also agrees with this.
